good start, but if you paint the cape white !
Then it is wrong, because only the Templars were allowed to wear white.
But you have a sergeant, painted black tunic..

So your advice is to paint the cape black?? I am painting it the same way that it is in the box and I think I read somewhere that they were allowed, until certain time within the XII century, to use the black tunic as long as they had the white cape. . . I don't know if it's right or not... I guess I have to go read more about theses fellas.

White was reserved for the knights themselves, because there were strict rules for the Templars.
Sergeants wore gray, brown, black, or mixed.

Hi! After a while here I am with update. Unfortunatily (or not) the piece isn't much more completed. I had a little accident wich made me start from the beggining, and then another accident made me to made an all new spear with a new banner in paper. With help of group of planeters I overcome the problem and for that and I give my thanks and learned a little more about modelling. In my opinion, the problem became a good thing because it made the figure more unique, besides the small diference.
Also I got new materials wich gave me the possibility of make a better paint job I think, but I'm more interest in knowing what you think

I think the white looks very good. Lots of depth, subtle shading. I've never used one of these sets... is there no mixing, just straight from the bottle?
Maybe you can explain a bit how they work?

Hi! Thanks for the comment
. Well, the set's are great, I have 3: black, flesh and white, but there is mix!! In my first try I found that if you don't mix there is not subtle shading, or it will get a big contrast, wich I don't like. And in the box there's a little flyer with instructions that recomemd the mix. But you can also do your own mixes with the colours so you can achieve what you want; that I also did in the cape, mixing base and the 3rd light to get a more lighter tone for base colour. The cool part is that you can make easily 5 degrees of lights and shadows just to aply all the colours of the sets.They also dry matt no matter what and fast. The flesh tone has a sattin finish.
In the end the colours of the set are kind of unique, so you don't have to lose time try mix 2 or 3 colours to achieve that one you want. You are just ready to paint what you want. So it's why they say that there ins't mix, just paint.

Very nice work so far Pedro!
I also use an Andrea set for flesh tones and am quite happy with it. But you're right; for subtle transitions there still is mixing involved to make "in between shades". Still easier to do with a set though.

I'm gonna talk to my guy Greg @ The Sentry this week about ordering a colour set if he doesn't have them. White has always been a sore spot for me... either too bright and flat or too dirty looking. maybe the white set will help.

Yes, I think it's money well spent! But I would like to know how to do other shades of white without the set... I've seen several types of white painting's. There are some more blue, grey or beige. To avoid the same type of white.

I also have the white set, which as mentioned above, give great results if you sneak your own mixes in between, such as lightening the highlight mix gradually for smoother transitions. It's a good base to start from. Haven't tried the blacks as I mix my own, but may invest in the flesh set.

Allright, here it comes an update as the work is right now. So to 100% finish I have to paint the gloves, the wood of the lance, the tip of the lance, all the metals, do a little highlights in shield, the terrain cause only has base colour and do all the dirt on the figure. hope you like it.
