Sorry Marcus, what's Goo? Any commercial brand of something?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Francisco
Sprue goo is an old classic, basically get half a jar off Tamiya thin and feed it with offcuts off sprue (ideally from the same sprue) and leave it for a few days. What you get is a jar of liquid plastic. I decant a little and use a jar of neat Tamiya thin to then make as thin/thick as required and apply for levelling. You have to be careful as it will melt plastic detail. It’s great for things like resin figures or where you need to join micro gaps like head and neck area.

Just a small update tonight, bit of detailing on the Tesserarius. Added the shoulder strap for his Sword (Gladius) it’s not attached below his belt (Balteus) for painting. Also added hobnail rivets to the boot.

Sorted the hair for the prone figure.

Hi Marcus

That falling figure looks really good even without refinement

Looking at the whole scene , my thoughts are it woukd take another figure behind the kneeling one , moving shield raised to take tge place of tge falling one ....just my idea !!

I see the arm is there ....think it will look better with the groundwork in place

This is a really good project and shows your skill with putty

Look forward to more from your bench

Thanks Nap, logically the fallen Legionary would be replaced in the ranks, however compositionally this current setup works as it follows the principle of the golden triangle and that would be broken introducing a second figure behind.

Excellent Marcus!

Before it’s too late, I think that the helmet on the guy throwing the pilum is sitting a bit high. The lowest part (minus the skirts) should be level with his eye brows. Just trying to help. Great movement in this scene.

Thanks Andrew, no panic needed. The helmets are just loosely plonked ontop of each Legionary right now and won’t be secured till after painting their heads/faces.

I agree though, the imperial Gallic helmet is sitting far to high on his head, so looks odd in the images above. :)
