Following Colonel Chamberlain, I'm diving straight in with my next project, and one of the biggest I've ever done. After I'd seen the release of this set, I knew it was one for me.
At this early stage I've just drilled and pegged each piece ready for painting and positioned them
on the scenic base.

Hi Malc, good start to the scene it’s going to look good when done.

Snik, it will be with you very soon, looking forward to seeing what you do with it too.

Rob, it will definitely be a colourful set, it’s in 75mm but we also sell it in 120mm. The 120mm is very impressive when put together it’s certainly makes a nice centre piece.

My thoughts now are on what colours to use and how I'd like the finished piece to look.
I want to steer away from a flamboyant Hollywood look, and go for something more realistic.
I'm thinking along the lines of something based on the series Black Sails, perhaps with a smidge of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Not too muted.
Anyway I'm really looking forward to splash on the paint and see how it turns out.

I've made a start on pirate number one. At this stage its quite early work, but I'm trying to create a worn and weathered look to this guy.
Just noticed that I've forgotten to paint his earrings in. Ooops, that will be next on my list, before working on the belt, sash and shirt.

Hi Mike , I know it’s our product but I have to say if you decided to get one you will not be disappointed in the Quality of the casting. But I’m sure people that have got one will testify to that.

We do the set in two scales 75mm and 120mm they are identical in every way but size.

I'm afraid its just a small update at this stage, as I've not had much time to spend at my bench.
I didn't want the shirt to look Persil white, so I opted for a bleached linen effect, which I hope looks ok.
There's a little tidying up to do and finishing off the arm and hand.

I've also started on the faces of the other two pirates, but not worth showing at this point.
Fingers crossed I make another update in the next few days.
Must add, that I'm really enjoying working on this one. :)
