Hey Guys,

First I have tried to use Kitpic now so I don't waste all the postings! I have decided that I needed to break out the paint brush and start painting. It has been some time and as you all know it can be trying once you start back. The kit is an older Pegaso one of a cavalry officer. I am pleased so far but still have a ways to go. I will post more of him later.

Thanks,

Joe

Hey Joe, excellent work, the fleshtones are very good.

Not only are you a good sculpter, you are a darn good painter too.

Keep up the good work and looking forward to your next step.

cheers.

Roc. :)

Joe, no touch lost there, looks great like a western veteran should, spot on with those flesh tones

Hey guys,

Thanks for the very kind comments. I will post a few more pictures later tonight. Anders, it was really hard to get back into the saddle but I am having fun again.

Roger,

On the last several figures I have adjusted my flesh. I use oils for the base and I do some highlighting and some shadowing. I will then cook it(crockpot) and when it is dry, I am now going back and repeating the highlights and shadows with acrylics. I know it sounds crazy but I only wish I could paint the flesh in the acrylics. Maybe one day I can have someone actually show me.

Joe

Joe,

That's an interesting technique. I look forward to seeing more photos as you complete this kit. take care, Roger

Hey Roger,

I am still trying to find something that works.

Here are a few new pictures with some work done on the belt. Pants are finished except for adding some dust and dirt.

Hey Anders and Barry,

Thanks. I am trying to figure something out that will work for what I am looking for in my flesh. Still aways to go but I will keep trying until I hope I find the look. Here is a closer look.

Joe, my friend, I personally think you have already found "that look". Your flesh looks fantastic. Could you tell us which oil colors you use before you bake it then which acrylic colors you use afterwards? A very interesting technique to say the least but one which has given you some truly terrific results!

Keep us posted please,
Jim Patrick
