Hey Guy! You are a very brave man to paint the metals after you do the flesh tones!! I always paint the metal first as I always seem to get metallic pigments all over the place and they are a bear to get rid of. He is looking super btw, looking forward to see the leather finished.
Thanks for the kind words Anders and Robin. Anders, a coat of flat coat does wonders when the little specks of metal get on the flesh......a little thinner with a clean brush....they swipe right off.
Thanks Roc,
The skin looks so different once the colors are done around the skin area. Every figure I do this flesh with does the same......not sure about it after its done.......but seems to come into perspective after border areas are done. It is a monster to hold onto tho.
Thanks Lou,
I have no Idea who the sculpter was for Verlinden who did this big boy. And you are right.....if it were a white metal casting it would be one very heavy doorstop!
I came back to this big boy today and proceeded to work on attaching all the horns and getting the armor plates cut from the sprue and samded and primed.
I haven't had much time to paint lately so progress has been slow on several figures. I have to grind down the left head armor so it will fit and drybrush all the horns again.
Thanks John.....glad to see someone on my side.....My wife made me turn the bust around as she felt it was always looking at her. She said it was spooky.
