Any of you guys ,mechanics
If so ,replacing a clutch master cylinder on a 2008 Landrover Defender does one have to strip out the clutch assembly to get into the gearbox where this offending part apparently resides, does seem totally
crazy to me considering you would probably have to bleed this blighter when replacing a clutch.
Got a feeling I am getting it rammed right up me with this repair  .Help anyone

So not a complete loss then?:ROFLMAO: There's bound to be somebody here(y)

Doing this yourself is going to ruin those nails Ron!! And the price of Lanny parts means no more 'Flame Tart Red' manicured nails for a while.

I ain't doing it myself Denito:eek: so no danger to the nails ,,I prefere Goth Black or steampunk gunge for the nails

It does sound like a pile of pish to me ,seen that landy thing but it is pre 2008 which is when the landrover defender got a new style engine IE the common rail diesel ford transit one.
So nothing available on this modern style engine ,but i always thought the master cylinder was behind the clutch pedal in the engine compartment ,
problem is the bloody thing has been on the ramp now for two weeks and this is a firm I trust implicitly , but beginning to think they have made a very Big-a Mistake-a and don't know how to tell me

Hit google. My wife found that a quoted $1500 air conditioner repair could be resolved with the addition of a length of rubber hose. My mechanic did not charge me anything to do it given his embarassment. :)

Yip that's what I thought ,but this is a very different engine from the TDI 300 Problem is there seems no information on the common rail Ford engine fitted and the bloody thing is in bits and i don;t think they can put it back together  anyhow it's going to be a right boot in the churlies that's for sure.

Ron give me the exact make of engine I've a contact who's an expert in these motors and I'll get on to him

Just back from the garage , Turns out it is a Clutch concentric slave cylinder and is indeed in the gear box ,so it is all back together , hunky dory BUT it won't change gear now, so nobody knows what's wrong now. Make is a Defender Ninety 2004 cc Year 2008 With the New engine derivative Ford transit common Rail 6 Speed box.

Have you tried soaking it in Fairy Liquid?
