Hartelijk dank Pierre  Ofschoon ik van de kust ben, heb ik famillie in Genk ;) Now i'm curious about that bust, will have a word with someone who might be able to clear this up.... i hope. Will update on that bust as and when i hear back from him ;-)

Hi everyone.
Three years ago when Carl Reid brought out this splendid bust...I told Gordon Mitchell how I planned to convert it for myself...and we got talking.

The end result was a series of trumpet major conversions as follows.

Helmeted heads are available for
Cuirassiers
Carabiniers
Dragoons
Line lancers.

Different tunic bodies are available as...

imperial lace Cuirassiers
9 button Surtout no lace.
9 button Surtout with plain lace bars.
plastron front for line Lancers, and line Dragoons after 1812.

Further heads with plumed Colpak for Trumpet Major 1st Cuirassiers 1812-15, and finally a plumed Czapska was provided for 7-9th line lancers in
Polish uniform.
So ....many regiments can be made from the larger range.

Unfortunately whoever painted the second one, albeit beautifully here, has painted a
Carabinier Helmeted head onto the
1st Cuirassiers body 1807 in Scarlet.

This trumpet major of 1st/2nd Carabiniers
should be in a sky blue jacket.

Thanks for the info, Peedee! That makes it all clear.
As for the red effort the guy made on his bust, he unfortunately got it wrong, trying to depict a Second empire carabineer trumpeter. At that time the carabineers were part of the imperial guard and their trumpeters wore red, but the white lacing should be at EVERY buttonhole and the width of the lacings tapers down towards the belt. Doing a little research always pays!

Yes I know, it's nothing like that either, with the front of the helmet comb having different embossed badging and different form of epaulette fringes too.
so many differences he couldn't do this with just paint.
it would have been easier to do a chasseur trompette major of the Garde Royale first restoration using the lancer helmet to be honest.

Oh PS there is no such thing as a 'brand Peedee models'
guys, just my name on the box by Gordon.

Like that "Brand Peedee" ...lol

Paul .....hope you can find some to share some of your artwork on these conversions using what you did in collaboration with Gordon
...are the pieces still available ...tempted

Happy benchtime to all
