Hi All,

Here's my latest. He's an American Light Dragoon from the War of 1812.
I used Osprey's Men-At-Arms 345 "The United States Army 1812-1815", plate F-3 as reference.

The head is from Hornet's new 1/32 scale head set's. Can't recommend these enough for figure converters.

The sabre and scabbard are from Historex spares. I had to redo the hilt/guard to the correct pattern.

The body, cloak and helmet is made from AVES. The buttons are tiny glass marbles.

All painted with acrylics.

Thanks for looking!

WOW that's a truly amazing sculpt Jason. I really love it. If it was commercially available I would purchase is without any hesitation.

Thanks guy's! It was a fun "build".

Sorry for not taking any in-progress pic's. This one took a life of it's own and went together fairly quickly. It took approximately two weeks to build and paint.

Gosh! That is looking sweet! You get some air with that thing? ;) Looks nice and I am looking forward to seeing what you do next. I am really itching to do some sculpting myself now.

How did you make the spurs and where did you find those tiny marbles?

Joe

Jason, As Gomer Pyle would say "Surprise surprise surprise!" What a cool figure, what a sneak. I like the way you've depicted him in the cloak. The face is really nice, it looks really wel blended.~Gary

Superb figure Jason. ANd it took only two weeks to sculptand paint!!! Now I'm REALLY jealous. Couldn't only paint afigure in that short time. Respect man.

Greetz,

The spurs are made w/ AVES and Duro mixed. Rolled into strings then wrapped around the heel. I then cut a tiny "barb" and glued into the center of the heel ring. The spur itself is a tiny flatten ball of putty then carefully glued to the barb.

The tiny marbles I found at Micheals craft store. They're used for X-Mas decorations and such.

Thanks Gino!

Well, two weeks and a couple days. :) There was really not much to it. The cloak covers most of the figure so there was not alot "putty time" on him. He was pretty easy to paint since he was basically one color. Less was more when it came to highlights and shadows for the dark blue.

Jason,
I can only repeat the sentiments of others, but superb work nonetheless! I admire sculpting tallent to be certain, but your work is both sculpted and painted very well. Hats off!
