For the UK Guys on this site,

Have just looked at the Historex site-huge price hike for Pegaso! (around 25%) I'm too shocked to look at any others ....90mm now £85....90mm Mounted £200....75m £40+ ...75mm Mounted £95

Thank god for the grey army it's just increased in value by 25%

Guess I'll have to wait for sterling to recover before buying any more-there comes a time when enough is enough. I'm assuming that this is due to sterlings fall but it will be interesting to see if this is a Pegaso induced increase-no doubt they will respond.

Guys
i don't think is Pegaso.Sterling has lost a good 25% so...However the real shame is that
the people responsible for this mess are not in jail.Wall street and the City of London are to blame They should be made to pay for what they have done.

Looks like only the figure brands made in Europe (Pegaso, Romeo and Andrea) and that need to be payed in euro has going up in price with Historex. Young did'nt.
About two weeks ago, they have annonced in big at there site, that all the prices has bin going down due the recent VAT drop at 15%.
Well, I think they sold more figures for about 2, 3 weeks and now it will stop.
I wish them good luck, they will need it!

Eddy.

I did some more checks....... Historex are charging £95 for the 75mm Roaming Mounted Knight........cost including VAT direct from Pegaso is £85....both prices are plus postage. Pegaso do however offer 15% discount on orders over 250 Euros. Seems the best way forward is get together with friends and place orders directly with Pegaso to take advantage of the discount. Historex could be more helpful in the current climate, is this a case of the 2nd generation running the business into the ground? time will tell but with so many alternative ways of buying opening up on the internet they will have to be careful. It is however possible however that Pegaso are about to increase prices and Historex have pre-empted this? no doubt all will be revealed in the new year.

Pegaso prices have not risen to other European countries , since i have checked many sites , and the same goes also here for Greece .

The sterling though , has rolled down almost equal to Euro, while some months ago at was almost at a 1,5 range with it , and we could not definately buy anything priced in sterlings .

So maybe buying directly from Pegaso and taking advance on the special discount terms might be a good solution for UK guys if Historex prices are up the hill !!

I noticed this a few days ago with some of the other lines on the Histrorex site, Art Girona increase by£5 per figure also Romeo and Andrea :(

Andrea's prices on Historex site

I was on the point of buying the 54mm Andrea Catapult group until I noticed the increase from £82.60 to £114. That has detered me I must admit. I do wonder if stock already purchased at better rates has been hiked up to make a quick buck.

I think Historex will see a significant downturn in sales.

A quick check of the pegaso and historex sites reveals a romeo mounted figure I was thinking of buying, is the same in euros on the pegaso site as it is in sterling on the historex site.
I don't think the price rise has anything to do with the price of metal its the dramatic fall of the value of sterling against the euro which has given rise to the increase.
Although it seems to me that Historex have taken the opportunity to increase their margins on both new and existing stock .They must be very confident of their market at a time when retailers are slashing their prices to make a sale.
It's a pity there's such a lack of competition but where else can you buy pegaso from in the UK other than Historex.
Historex give an excellent service but I am sure such dramatic price rises will make many potential customers think twice before buying; perhaps they'll have a January sale!

Peter buy your Pegaso from Pegaso, their service is good, I’m not saying don’t ever buy from Historex, but in times of trouble and when money is tight, you can find other ways of purchasing the figure you want, at the end of the day, you want to be involved in the hobby, and you want that figure you always liked, get it from the cheapest place you can....... its worth it in the end

Grey Army? - please explain
This is the common term for the collections of unmade kits most modellers have - in the past they were always metal... and since they were soldiers grey army was just so obvious a name :)
