I think it is not finished. The dark grey around the dapple's is to sharp, and I find the dapples to light and to big.
But that is only my opinion. On the other hand: i wish i could paint a dapple grey so far.

Well done Davide
I love to see a SBS on how you go about painting dapple greys.
John... It's a Metal Modeles' horse

Look forward to seeing the figures painted up

I used to have a horse that looked just like this, very nice work. Some grey horses, in my experience, have much more pronounced dapples than others. Looking foward to the completed piece.

I agree with Mary, plenty of horses I've seen have had dapples this strong. So it looks fine to me. Very good painting, I like the slightly linear brushwork to indicate the direction and texture of the hair.
My only comment might be that there seems to be an abrupt transition between the light and dark colours on the neck, causing a strong line or edge. But that's just IMHO and I couldn't paint anywhere near as good as this. Great work!

I like your result, Davide, not too stark.

I agree, Mat, but I wondered if it's a result of the combination of the sculpt and the lighting used in taking the photo.

Prost!

I agree Brad it could be, I notice the effect is less natural in the photos of the horse facing to the left. Anyway, I don't mean to to crit people's work when they are much better painters than myself so I say again fantastic painting!
Cheers Mat
