It's the only one I have had success with. And it is very reliable; just needs plenty of thinning, which of course means it lasts longer.

I've been using the AK Ultra Matt Varnish for quite a while now, I actually thin my paints with it rather than water now a days, works a treat.

That's a good suggestion Simon, I do the same lately and like the results.

Steve

A coat or two once the figure is finished gives a nice almost velvety finish I have discovered, only done this a couple of times but I like it. Might revisit some older figures.

Onto the rudder: fourth coat of base white applied.
Next comes the red and blue.
Am keen to get this bugger finished now, and set-to on the Italian diorama.

That's it. I'm calling time on this project.
No weathering, and nothing else left to paint.
It was fun, but I'm tugging at the leash to get started on the WW1 diorama, which will last long into 2025.
This was a nice change of pace, though. Rather like being on nicotine lozenges for a few weeks, although most of it was lost in the mists of concussion.
Back to tobacco next week: a huge Sherlock Holmes pipe, stuffed with "rough shag", methinks!!

(I've got sunshine in my stomach...)

Hope you like the care taken with presentation here?

Great stuff, especially the tri-colour on the tail thingy it looks perfect and all with out masking.

Cheers Simon
Thank yoooouuuuu
The "wires" put me right off washes, and the yacht varnish was so glossy that just getting the matt finish after the decals went on was effort enough.
No more aircraft.
None.

The nice thing about this stage is that everything, construction-wise, can happen indoors. So the weather can do what it likes, and the conservatory isn't needed yet.

Well enjoy the warmth of indoors while you can, the conservatory halfway house can wait. We got the CHRIS system installed now my wife works in thd conservatory all he time, it still can get chilly but not the icebox it used to be.
