Dear Friends,
Recently I started painting this very nice 75mm figure from Alexandros Models. Since it was released, I saw the posture like a dancing posture then anything else. Because of that I made a slight modification to the whole figure appearance dropping the big fur cape. Doing so, I re sculpted the hair to suit the new look. In the end I'll renounce to use the shield and the spear as well.
Here is how it looks today. Still some clean up touches are required.

The next step is to finish the groundwork and to create the story.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts are very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Zeno :)

Looking awesome Zeno.
I also like the clingy sheer effect. The hair looks excellent too.
Look forward as always to your ground work and am curious to hear the back story for this Norse beauty.

Cheers my friend

Good luck in Chicago

Colin

Excellent work, but although I agree the sheer/transparent effect is well done, is it appropriate for materials that would be in use in the period, even if it is a romanticised or theatrical depiction of the subject matter?

Thanks a lot to all of you for the great feedback and I'm glad that you like what I did with my adventure in the mythological/fantasy world! :)
Thanks Colin! We will miss you there!
Hi David,
My approach to the subject, involved artistic licence. This due to the fact that I considered the subject in the mythological/fantasy realm and not in an historical context. On top of that, as you mentioned, the subject itself is romanticised and it was and probably still is presented in a theatrical way.
Thanks,
Zeno :)

I think theatrical/artistic is the only approach one can take when representing a mythical character... no uniform plates to be had for Valkyries I'm afraid :sneaky:

To that end, the approach you've taken is perfectly matched to the spirit of the sculpt and the legend that inspired it.

Right now I'm pouting about missing Chicago :sour: but you guys go ahead and have fun without me, don't spare a second thought, I'll be fine... here... all by my lonesome. I mean, I'm missing Chicago... but you guys are going to miss IPMS Ajax!:p ne ner ne ner ne ner

Colin

Yes, Colin. You are right. No "uniform plates" for this baby! Have fun at the Ajax show!

I'm ready to go. Drive safe guys and I'm looking forward to see you there and have a beer together.:)
Cheers,
Zeno
