Gary and Joe,
Thanks my friends...I hope I made Derrick proud with this piece...
I'll have it at the DC and MFCA Show's this year...

All the best

Patrick

Here are the final pics...dull coat is on and the metallic highlights are laid in...I am really happy the most with the flesh tones and learned more than I imagined with metallics...comments are welcome...

All the best

Patrick

Patrick-

A definite congrats to you on this bust. The dulling down improved the blue quite a bit.

The flesh and esp the eyes are very good.

What's next? :)

Keith

Great job Patrick! Good to finally see the finished product!

Did you have any problems with the metals after the dull coating? When I have dull coated somethign that I used Mr Metalizer for it seamed to screw it up and make it really pigmenty.

Anders,
Thanks my friend...
I don't use Mr Metalizer at all for my metal affects... I know what heresy! I used an enamel base coat from Humbrol called metal coate. Once that dried, I used some testors silver over it; those became the basis for the metals. That's what I dull coated. When the dull coat was dried, I applied some tube silver from Luquidtex to bring out some of the highlights, and then mixed up some silver printers ink and used that at the highest points to add a lil contrast. Does that make sense?

Hope all is well

Patrick

Keith,
I have to agree...I was really worried that the quilted jacket and shirt wouldn't tie in, but the dull coat worked wonders. I applied three light mistings to the bust and then hit it wit a hair dry to speed up the drying...

I am going to start a 90mm Roman from Verlinden...it's a Centurian that is simply awesome!

Hope all is well my friend...

Patrick
