Hi all.

I hope Santa gave you some nice pressies, especially those that require painting. :D

I got a different type of kit……a drill stand!
At least I now stand a chance of drilling a straight hole when I come to mounting my busts on wooden display plinths!!!
Now to put it together.

I hope you don't have to drill any straight holes in order to put it together.......

Hi everyone

Some good pressies there ...for me I got the traditional socks along with 10 series 33 brushes from Rosemary & Co , and a promise that I will get the new 1/10th Imperial Gd Drum Major bust from CGS , also bought prior to Santa’s soirée some new lamps ...so all in all ...

a happy Nap

This was my star present!
A scholarly work on the use of continental armour in England in the second half of the 15th century (including of course, the War of the Roses). Simply a magnificent book for students of English Armour. It’s by Tobias Capwell, curator of arms and armour at the Wallace Collection (itself a magnificent collection second only to the Royal Armouries and worth a day out). Tobias is also a world renowned jouster who competes in historical correct armour. He also lead Richard III funeral procession through the street of Leicester in full armour and rides in the Lord Mayor’s show…..a sight to see!
This book is the third of a trilogy with the other two volumes chronicling English armour from 1400 to 1500, but sadly these two volumes are out of print and go for upwards of a hundred pounds from second hand dealers and Amazon.
Thoroughly recommend.
