Gary..I read in teach yourself guitar book that if you didn't feel an overwhelming desire to pick it up and play it everytime you saw it then you weren't meant to play the guitar. Leave your paintbox on the dining room table with the lid off. See if you itch to paint. {only joking ofc:) ]

I hate assembling subassemblies after everything is painted  I try to put together as much as I can from the start but some things just would be in the way... Nothing worse than painting a torso and an arm and finding a gap at the shoulder that needs to be filled and painted again. Even if they fit, the fumes from the glue leaves a white "ghost" on the surrounding paint or even worse, damage the paint with wrinkles.
Seems no matter how often you dryfit and recheck before hand... Nothing seems to fit right after prime/paint.

Infuriating!!!!!!!!

I think adhesive/paint has a inherent capacity to distort figures.;)

I'm comforted to see others who also don't like or have trouble painting eyes.

That's one thing I like about painting my toy soldiers. It's a stylized look; I do the eyes as a line and a dot. The technique is a little simpler than it is when painting to connoisseur style, and there's less that can go wrong.

Oh, well, I just have to keep plugging away at it and it will become more comfortable, that's how it is with anything.

Prost!

Taking forever to paint each part separately and perfectly only for it to not fit correctly when assembling, getting superglue all over it and my fingers and ruining all my hard work. Those are days when I wish I was interested in football instead.

We have all been there, I try and use pins as much as possible to avoid this therefore less glue is needed as you only need to apply glue to the pin and into the corresponding hole.

Yeah, your'e dead right, been there, done that, got the tee shirt to prove it!!! I'm just about ready to discuss it with my therapist. Yup, it really has gotten that bad!
Best wishes, Gary.

And I thought I was the only one! The trick is to accept that glue hates you, and hate it back. It doesn't help, but it is comforting.
Best wishes, Gary.
