When we actually had a navy

I was just looking at the top photo again,
Even if we had the same navy it wouldn't look the same,

There would be very happy Portsmouth traffic wardens rowing up and down the lines
making more commission on their minimum wage.

Just read the a report on the F 35 : the F14- 18 and the American Harrier variant which it is meant to replace just spanks it as do the current chinese and Russian counterparts .
Probably better if we just forgot about putting planes on them .

Oh goody, so another useful he'llicopter carrier then instead of the original 'required'

Through deck supercarrier with

Long range, Mutlirole supersonic strike aircraft
and anti-submarine capability.

Well it's only a little compromise I suppose.

After all
No-one foresaw that the f35 is a poorly designed prototype that doesn't function, and may now be abandoned.
Despite being designes by a subsidiary of. BAE systems.

no-one forsaw the need to design or provide
force protection vessels to work alongside it.
Was it going to have a magic bubble around it.

Oir are they just. ALL. DICKS

Defense procurement my arse,

It will be sub c0otracted to a naval call centre in india mark my words,

Glad I didn't vote fot this lot, I'm allowed to moan

Agreed Ron. We could use them instead as floating processing centres for migrants, like the Greeks have started doing with their cruise liners.

I too am not convinced by the F35B .. (Jump-jet variant). .. Its the powers that be who did not want to invest in the catapult system on the carriers. I hope the 'Typhoon', holds it own ... because these things are dodgy.:(

I don't know though! ... I have spent an hour +, watching various clips of this 'F35'. A lot of the criticism is from 2010 -2012/13. Its far less in 2014/15. Our test pilots have flown it from as about 8mth ago, even reading between the lines, the negativity seems to be much reduced.:cautious:... Perhaps the 'Tech', is working ? ... despite the 'Chinese' saying they can see it on radar! .. The same 'China', who has no innovation of its own but relies on 'Cyber-Theft'.

I will keep an eye on this.
