It's great this thread has resurfaced.

I've just looked back and I posted my photo back in January 2007.

Since then I've moved from the dining room table to somewhere more permenant. Not yet a dedicated workroom ( Can't get the present resident out yet, he's only 17 :D) and still in the dining room :) I didn't have to move my stuff far, about a metre.

Shhhh, here be weird ones den.....

...don't make any loud noises, don't make any sudden movements, and most importantly, don't show fear, he can sense that.....

oops, wrong site.....

my den of creativity...having a 3 bedroom place to myself, means I have a fair degree of latitude. Also means I have too much place....

photo 1, view as you walk in.
photo 2, the bench; made out of a old table top I grabbed from work (they were going to toss it), and just added some legs to it. I customised it so its higher then average - it stands 1200 mm tall, about waist height to me, which means can work at the bench standing up if need be.
Photo 3 Mini reference and junk table. The folders have articles clipped (or ripped) from magazines, as well as an ideas folder, a folder for print outs of work done (so I can see how I have progressed), the start of a personal modeling archive, as it were.
Photo 4, Left hand side is a storage rack for body bits, groundwork materials, armour kit stuff (did armour modeling years ago), all sub sorted in plastic containers. Keeps the appearance of neat, and helps convince girlfriends I have something resembling organisation! the grey racks are the hold area or WIP area. do a bit, return to it, do a bit, return to another kit...
Photo 5 - I'm the hairy one.....

cheers

Great thread and quite a trip down a rather nasty little memory lane!!

currently i live on my own and have a pretty cool model workshop room in my cottage.........

but i was married. for 14 years. gulp

kitchen tables .... painting ss bands in batches of 100 for a local toysoldier shop on the kitchen table.

sheds .... all my paint freezing. gettin hassle for being " in that bl@%$y shed all night " . all the crap thats too good to throw away being stored in shed.

tidying .... hmmm tidying was an obvious ploy to piss me off, it always worked

:)

ahhhh life!

anyway a picture of my pit

great thread all :)

That was my old work space when I was in my appartment. I just bought a house last month and I almost finished to set up my new playgroung!!! The entire basement!!!!:D

I told my girlfriend that I was invading the basement with all my stuff and she said ok as long as she keep the 2nd floor for herself!!! I said yes honey you can keep the rest of the house if you want!!!!:p I guess I'm a lucky guy!!! woohoo. Now I only need a place to keep the beer cold and a good TV and DVD to watch war movies while I paint!!!

Hi guys. I just finished turning one of our spare bedrooms into a new work area. I have my work bench and drawing table in here. My wife will also have a desk in her to grade papers and do work for school. It will be nice to have a dedicated area with lots of natural light instead of being down in the basement. Finished doing the trim and painting and i moved in the furniture but i still have some setting up to do but its starting to take shape.

The workbench with my new airbrush and compressor setup:

Nice one.
I would know where do you get those awesome posters from the Napoleontic area.

Marc

marc, i bought those posters at allposters.com
once i received the posters i took them to a art store and they do a treatment to make it look like canvas and frame them.
regards
