Hey everybody,
I spent the past weekend redoing my model area and wanted to show you how it looks now.
These first 2 pictures are how it looked before I started. I was using some old, nasty kitchen base cabinets for my work bench. Were good but took up too much space for the amount of usable storage they gave me...

These next couple of shots show the room now.
I'm really pleased with how it has turned out. Lots more storage and floor space.
I'd be curious to hear what any of you think of it.
Thanks,
Craig

And this one shows the drafting table. I love these things for workbenches. I have a more traitional one in my shed that I use for that purpose. I hadn't seen this type before but it worked out very well for me. It has a smaller footprint and the paneled area you see here is actually a storage cabinet. It is divided in the middle and has a door on bote ends. It's now ful of armor model kits :)

Your work area looks good Craig. I combined your posting to the already established thread of "WWork Areas". I will add to the portfolio of Planet Member's work areas later this evening. I just completed re-vamping my work area due to my computor being on the oposite wall of my paint area. Now all I have to do is turn in my chair to be at either. I get alot more painting time in now.

Hi folks, in my soldier room live two tabby cats, milliput and smooch both have their own chair one each side of the soldier table, bad language and fighting is not tolerated neither is puting ones paw in my cup of tea then licking ones paw, as with my children and grand children I have found it easier in teaching m/s how to pick the figures up than to say bad cat your dead........so train your children and your pets and your hair will stay dark well into old age....
evening all, Phil.

We have had quite a few new members since this thread ran before and I would like to encourage any new members to post photos of their work area to be included in the portfolio I started last year of Member's work areas.

I recently re-arranged my area and gave up the openess I had for additional storage. I had shelves made years ago that fit under the 8" lip of my desk which now houses my music CD's and moview. I also added a large blue book case for the ever growing library and the top shelves for my gray army of kits to paint.

Anyone wishing to post can email me their photos to [email protected] or you can post them after this thread and I will add to the gallery of work places.

Thanks Ernest. What you see is 32 years of accumalation of figure stuff. I started out with the kitchen table and everything was kept in a shoe box until I set up to paint again at another time. Now retired......this is where I spend most of my time.

Amazing, thanks for posting the pictures, guys.
Some of you have everything, including space, to build a 1/1 :)
Now I am dreaming to have a nice spacious work area like yours.

Tomas Castano, sculpter for Seil Models, has sent me photos of his work area.

Here is Tomas at his workbench creating yet another figure, hopefully for all of us to enjoy.
