Dodgy knees?

Prosthetic right knee, no cartilage in the left one and spinal injuries from parachuting, knackered right shoulder from a bike accident and sundry aches and pains from arthritis. Playing front row rugby (loose head) hasn't
helped much either. Apart from that I'm doing pretty well for a derelict! I enjoyed doing it all and knew I'd have to pay the piper at some stage, just wasn't prepared for that to happen at 29. Still there are perks to being a cripple, I get a blue badge and some music venues let my wife in for free as my carer, plus I get to paint most days, sometimes even all day! The way I look at it, 'at least I'm a Yorkshire man so it can't be all that bad'.

Cheers Simon

I think your glass-half-full attitude is impressive. Not everyone would be so objective.
(I know how you feel re arthritis: it's a sonofabitch

Depends what's in the glass really, I know I don't have too.many more years, maybe 20 or so, ain't gonna spend them miserable. So long as I remain vaguely functional it'll do. Now if you suffer from arthritis painting in the cold ain't gonna do you any good, get a calor gas heater mate, believe me you don't want it in your hands. Add to that the paint dries slower in the cold!

CHAARRGE!!
Nearly there now.
Just some tidying up to do on the trousers.

Looking good David, it'll be nice to see the ground work. Just an observation, but have them moving diagonally across the base rather than in line with the edges. Hoping for warmer days for you.

Yeah, sadly no room, since I am restricted for space both in base and cabinet terms.
And....
This is Number One of a paired vignette plan. There will be two more Yankees in a matching set-up, probably next year.
I appreciate the suggestion, though. And agree.
All the hypothermic painting sessions were nothing compared to 2 hrs at Welford Rd yesterday, watching Leicester Tigers go through a group collapse against Leinster.
F-ing FREEZING!!
And I got flashed by a speed camera on the way down.

Fair one with the composition, paired up it would make sense to have the running parallel to the sides.

I can imagine how cold it was and to loose as well, couldn't even have a drink as you had to drive sounds like a crap day. As for the speed camera I have got to.know where they are on my usual routes so my speed will go up and down around them, the buggers are average speed check cameras.

Ah, well now... I did have a cheeky Guinness at the start.
Wasn't a bad day, but could have been better.
Character-building.

Finished!

Just kidding. The "soil" is down. Going to drown it in matt varnish, then scatter with scatter-grass and decide on whether to make "scrub" or hurried breastworks.
Depends on how well-concealed the plastic figure bases are.

Sublime modelling soundtrack.
Speakers either side of me head.
Becker and Fagen trump Lennon and McCartney, for me, every time.

Oh that sounds damned good, I usually have planet rock on, though I finished my Kurassier to the gentle vibes of Ramstien!

As for the ground work, scrub and small saplings would be the easiest, that said I have no idea what terrain the wilderness campaign was fought in so don't listen to me!
