Looks good though David he's definitely getting there, hard to believe he's just an ICM plastic figure.

Happy New Year

It maybe helps to feel an empathy with the subject. Listening to Prof Gary Gallagher's presentations about the Army of the Potomac and civil war in general whilst painting sets an absorbing scene.
My brain is full of star-spangled banners and acrid gunsmoke.

Must admit that a lot of my reading has influenced my subject matter quite a lot. Years of reading fantasy novels has led to a cabinet shelf chock full of mini fantasy gaming pieces, and Sci fi novels to space craft and Maschinenkieger models. These days I hardly read at all so maybe the figures I put out lack any soul!! Not an issue as I enjoy them just the same, nah too philosophical for this time of day.

Not too philosophical at all. And you raise a good point: I wonder how modellers' finished work changes with interests over time?

Another chilly session, but the light is good for highlighting.

Thanks everyone. It's just nice to not have to worry about work for a week.
Back to the bullshi- I mean: "responsibilities" tomorrow.

You are a hardy soul David, I promised myself when I left the army I'd never be cold and wet again if I didn't have to be, but watching rugby soon killed that idea. Not sure I could bring myself to paint in my unheated conservatory though.

I am not a fan of any particular club, just happy to watch a good game, we have a local club quite close which my youngest joined before quitting for his GCSE's. Took him to some games from London Irish to 'quins and a fair few internationals at Twickenham. Best games to watch though, well if you can still see when the game starts is the Army & Navy annual game. Other than that not a great deal these days unfortunately, can't spend too long on my feet or walk very far at all these days.

I suppose being a Yorkshireman from Bradford I should follow Braford Bulls but I much prefer union and it's a long way from Hampshire where I now live to see any league games. So these days it's just the internationals in the living room for me, up side is I don't have to queue for a beer or the toilets!

At a guess I'd venture you're a Leicester Tigers fan, not sure what gave that away!

Cheers Simon

What your living in W Yorkshire now, good move I'd say unless you're in Bradford which is a dump. Not seen the final score but a good day for the Tigers?
