The bust is very close focused on the portrait "Lord Byron in Albanian Costume" by Thomas Phillips (estimated 1835), which hangs in the British National Portrait Gallery ...:



The costume that Byron wears has also been preserved and is exhibited at the National Museum in Tirana (Albania) ...:



As said: A very interesting new figure!

Is it just me, or do you also think we are going through a new wave of ' poste Militaire ' talent where the sculpts are just becoming better and better?

I await to see this in person, but undoubtedly it does make my mouth water. ( and this from a flat painter!!! Am I Bad? Hahaha )

Hi PF Fellow Models ,
Interesting bust, what I' l like to know is the detail raised or all free hand painting ?
As some of the series are either free hand or raised on which to paint.
Any help would well come .
