Hello Bob,

Great, great project: original concept, colourful characters, interesting props (the cab), great soundtrack and above all a brave and generous statement.

What can I do but sit back and wait for the next instalment? With mucho anticipation!

Mucho gracias vato. I live for manifesting in miniature these little untold stories tucked away in history.

I never heard of Don Tosti and the Pachuco Boogie Boys until I started researching this project and that alone was a gem of a find.

An update. I have sculpted most of the figures nearly to completion and done a preliminary arrangement. It is a street corner in East LA.

Is "Reet poteet!" the right thing to say for a zoot jivester to say?
It's all-reet with me.

The compositional sine wave was done to add a sense of movement and enhance the "wave" of violence metaphor.

On another thread I asked about ceating metal trash cans that were all beat up. Well, I figured it out how to do it and here are some pics of them temporarily positioned in the dio.

I made the trash by shredding and mincing some tissue paper, which I then stuffed in the cans and soaked with superthin CA. When dry I washed black onto the pile, let dry and then colored with acrylics to taste. The handles on the lids are styrene strips and the cans and lids were painted first black and then dry brushed with Tamiya gunmetal. I finally washed the cans with burnt umber and mars red oils to grime them up.

Next, I make a parking meter!

You know what?, I'm use to seeing military historical figures, and tend to forget that historical isn't limited to military. Bob, I like what you're doing, keep up the fantastic work ;)

Hey Bob!

Man, I dont know how I have managed to miss this topic for so long!

What a gem of a dio that you are building! Really like the concept, the sculpting, the topic and the execution of the whole shebang!

Keep it up my friend, I am sure looking forward to see it in the flesh!

Will it be done for Atlanta?

Well, I am doing this on commission and it is not due until Chicago next year but I would like to have it finished by Atlanta so I can show it around a little before then. Also, I want to get it completed so I can move on to the next project which I might use as the basis for an article in Historical Miniatures. I have been talking with Steve Weakly to arrange for that and Allah willing, I will have that one done by Chicago as well.
