G'day all,
Planet Figure serves many of us as either a secondary, or sometimes, primary, digital modelling club.

Every now and then, sourcing supplies can be a bit fiddly for some of us (eg, printers inks, preferred putties, so on)

So heres an idea; Name where you are and where you source your supplies from.

The aim being to share info, and hopefully continue to build up the modelling community.

Maybe we could even get a write up in Model art magazine too!

Me?

Moved from Tasmania to Gippsland, Victoria. Figures I usually get from Ian Harries of Empire Hobbies, and some supplies I get from Gosford hobbies, NSW. Plus whatever I can scrounge up from the local Spotlight arts and crafts store.

cheers

Good onya Jamie,

Come on you sons of ANZAC, let's here from you!!

I too purchase most of my figures through Ian Harries at Empire Hobbies, and those I can't get through Ian, I usually buy online from the manufacturers. Paints, brushes and other bit and pieces I buy from Stanbridges Hobby shop here in Perth.

Jamie I don't buy much other than paints & these come from local Games Workshops or art outlets.

Just been stuck for bases & have hit up mates here to see what they have. John Belcher came through with a couple and I've got some on order from Steve Kirtley in the UK, though do baulk at having to send bits of wood round the world - carbon miles and all that ;-)

Good luck in the quest,

Mike

Jamie, great wee thread,..made me think!!,mate l buy very little from hobby shops when it comes down to it,..l go through trade out lets for putty, sculpting tools l make myself, art and signwriters supply shops for my oils etc. l've not purchased paints for years..never buy brushes..looked after, they they dont wear out, bases my son Chris turns up for me, figures,l'd love to buy, some wonderful works out there, but will never get around to painting them, l enjoy sculpting so much,l do paint some of them, those l loose interest in sit on the shelf or l give away..its not that l'm a tight butt its that l just see my dollar in a different light...

Phil...:)

Jamie,
The Magicsculp for my sculpting I get through Armsmodelit, they have an excellent service. As for paints,I usuall y get them either from Spotlight or the local modelshop. For sculpting tools,i tend to make my own or use a knitting needle of all things.

Hi mate, I'm from WA

I buy georgian for my oils and citadel paints for my acrylics. I have a few vallejo paints as well.

I get the oils from a art chain called Art Riot. Citadel paints I usually get from games world or toy world as they are closer to my house than GW :-P

If I need laquers I go for Mr Colour. These are available in perth from the perth modelling centre.

We are quite lucky in perth as all these paints are very easy to get your hands on.

Sometime soon I'll buy some Alcad as well which is in stanbridges ;-)

Hi ya Jamie,
Being in Perth, most kits I get are from Empire Hobbies or online depending on exchange rate etc, buy a bit from Ebay as well I guess. Oil paints are Rowney-Georgian from any art stores that I come across, that also goes for the brushes and pastel chalkes as well. Hobby brand paints and putties are from Joondalup Hobbies or Stanbridges. I tend to make my own bases.
The hobby scene is so small here that you tend to source your own supplies from various sources, than use one supplier.

I'm from Melbourne (VIC).

I get my Vallejo paints from Eureka Miniatures in Hughesdale Victoria (they have the full range) www.eurekamin.com.au
They are super friendly guys - have a great range of miniatures as well.
I highly recommend them.

I get sculpting tools from Australian Jeweller supplies www.ajsonline.com. They are in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney & Adelaide.

My Winsor & Newton oil paints and brushes I get from West Art in Footscray.

Cheers
Silvana
