Hi all this is a picture of a project i finished last year, based on a painting by William Waterhouse its in 120mm and is a conversion of mini art figures and a scratch built female

Paul....nicely done piece and definitely a winner. I have always loved the Pre-Raphaelite painters.
A small point though, the figures as presented are from the Sir Frank Dicksee version inspired by the Keats poem. Not Waterhouse. Though Waterhouse did do a version of this in 1893, it looks nothing like the figures and does not include a horse. It depicts the lady with no mercy pulling a helmeted knight to her from below from a reclined position.
There are 5 or 6 of the Pre-Raphaelites that used this as a subject for painting in various depictions.
Sorry, but my Art History degree couldn't let this one go. Especially since its one of my favorite paintings.
 
I like the Pre-Raphaelite's as well and this looks really good, but do you have more and larger photos? I'd love to see more.

Renarts Many apologies you are absolutely right it is by Dicksee. im planning another one on a painting by Waterhouse, its my old brain it gets confused. Im also planning another one based on The Accolade by Blaire Leighton.
I will try and put up some more pictures but im having difficulty uploading them at the moment

Oh, that looks much better in bigger pictures!! I love scratchbuilt figure and the pose she's in. Great work!
 
Wow! Beautiful job. The figures are really well done. What are the horse's mane and tail made from?

Hi many thanks
The mane and tail are made from strands of stretched spru, i glued them together then immersed them in hot water to shape them, a long process but a good end result

Id love to see a better picture of her face. That is some amazing work, you got some skill mate, you could make some money selling recasts of that, especially since its such an odd subject. I love it!
 
Wow that's stunning ! You have said the knight is is a Milart alteration and the female is scratch built but where did you find the 120mm horse it's perfect for the scene . This is the second scrathed built model I've seen this year using Milart pieces as the bases for the of the construction and bougth have been inspirational . Do you have any works in progress pictures you could share with us to show how you achived this .

sorry in the delay replying, to much work, the horse is also a mini art horse i did the whole blog on the MM site. if you look in pre 20th cent figures then search for new project youll see all the pics there
