Hi all

Do you guys know any company/ies who manufacture 1/35 figures, besides the usual WWII stuff. I mean like napoleonics, ACW, AWI, colonial periods, etc...

Thanks for your help

Regards

Nope!

Honestly, 1/35th scale is a MODEL scale. Figures in this scale owe their existence solely to the presence of 1/35th scale models of tanks and military vehicles. For this reason it is a "bastard" scale. Practically speaking, there is no other reason for any figures to be produced in this scale if they are not compatible with models.

It is somewhat close (though not compatible with) 1/32nd scale. This is a more natural and universal scale and roughly equates to "54mm" which has been a standard figure scale since long before the Japanese began producing 1/35th scale tank models.

So, the answer to your question again is: NO.

On Guard Miniatures produced a series of 1/35 figures of various subjects and periods, including the Zulu War, the Mutiny, Aliwal, the Mexican-American war, Plains Indian Wars, and some others. They are out of production but I recently saw a few on eBay.--

Cannot answer that Bobby me lad. I have pondered the same thing when trying to match some of the figures with others for a vignette. I am sure it sounded good at the time.

Vehicle kits are in 1:35th scale. . . thus

Wow, after what Mike Good wrote, I'm not sure I should bring this up. But,
one Planeteer asked why did 1:35th scale figures get started in the first
place. And as well, I could ask the question, why are manufacturers
producing 1:48th scale figures?

Altho this is a web site for figure sculptors and painters, there are a great
deal of model builders who do vehicle kits; i.e. armored vehicles
and wheeled vehicles. Also there are a great many model builders
who build aircraft models. And for vehicles, the most popular scale
is 1:35th, for aircraft the most popular scale is 1:48th. Many of
these model builders, and that includes me, create vignettes and
dioramas, they set up a scene that could include figures — of
civilians, women and children, and military troops from the various
historic periods as well.

But of course, they would not be posting their work here. I thought most
model builders were familiar with the other genrés in the big field of
model building, but perhaps I was incorrect.

Anyway, I hope that answers the question, as to why manufacturers
release figures in 1:35th scale. :):):)

Jay,

I was a model builder (and still dabble a bit) long before I started sculpting figures. That is why I began sculpting 1/48th scale figures so many years ago. Models always were my first love.

Cheers!!

Mike

 Time Machine's models are mostly or all identified on the site as being 54mm... "54mm White Metal & Resin Kit" is right on the pics.
