Hi Daniel

The dead fits well into the diorama , nice painting on him despite his lack of movement ......will you add the tricorns perhaps ?

The officer just shows the skill you have on the figures and also fits nicely in ...that advancing line with colours flying looks great .....must have been terrifying to see the coming towards you

Cherrs for updates ,lovely pictures

Happy benchtime

Hello Folks,
While i have the French Guards as a separate vignette, i will have the Swiss guards on their own.
I will work on 5 of them at a time.
For now, i have finished the blue areas , still need to work on finishimg details on the red coats...

Fantastic work, especially considering the scale.
I like the outdoor pictures, the trees in the background and the sunlight really bring this to live.

Hi Daniel

Loving the Swiss uniforms , lovely start with the blue

Really like the different facial details like the moustache

Look forward to seeing more from the small scale bench

Happy benchtime

Thanks my friend,
Making the moustaches is a tricky business .
Cheers!

Hi Daniel

Good to see the update as always great to see the artwork, full of character and details, do like the officer in the first picture....he's almost inspecting your painting

Thanks for sharing

Cheers!

A little bit of progress,
I've used an old platform i had and added a piece of ground i had for few years that i have never get to use for a project and glued to the wood base,.
I've painted in a medium drak grey and dry brushed with the base plus stone grey, added a mixture of dark green wash plus burn umber wash to some areas of the stone
I have glued the officer , and 2 troopers already finished, i decided to add a drummer ( last minute additiion) and the officer in undress uniform.
Already ordered a park wall that is in a 1/35 scale, i will see how i adapt it to the size of these chaps, they are 40mm but beefier than other brands .
The idea of this vignette is to have a section of the swiss gardes being inspected somewhere outside the Main building of a palace.
Their duty was the king's custody imside while the Gardes Francaises would have guarded the outside....

Daniel, hello and hope all is well! The scene looks very nice. My only concern is the bases of the figures - I know it is more work, but have you considered slicing off the bases, and pinning the figs to the groundwork, so the shoes are actually on the ground? Otherwise, your work continues to be outstanding, as does your production rate! All the best, Don.

Hey Don,
Long time no see!.
Thanks for the advice man, but i am not very good at clipping the bases of these chaps off, but my plan of attach is to add some putty to blend in with the ground and paint it.
Cheers!
