Hola Alex!

Great to see that you havemade some more progress on this piece! I have a soft spot for Alexander the great as I have read quite a bit about his conquers.

I do have a couple of pointers on the horse, first of all it appears to be a tad big for the rider, now Buccephules (sp?) might have been a beast of a horse, if so, your fine. Although Alexander wasnt exactly a big guy either, so it may be just right.

The second thing I would suggest doing is make the neck a tad thinner at the 'throatlatch' where the neck and head meets, although this horse was a stallion, most of them have thick necks but they still taper some, if you would take off just a little not too much right under the head I think it would look a lot better.

It is great to see that you didnt sculpt a horse with human teeth, a funny error so many sculptors seam to do!

Keep it up and Im looking forward to see this piece finished!

Hello Dan, thanks for your reply. :)

Anders, very interesting all your view points, I´ll chec out each these...
About the horse/rider proportions, in first page I show the pic from saw the scene, and there is a very interesting comment about this bread of horses from Dario.

I´m working...

Alex, beautiful work, I like it.

Did you scratch build the horse?

Cheers
Roc. :)
Hello Roc, yes, ALL figure and horse was made myself, the scale is 65mm.

Alex.

Alex, Nice work. What looks to be the most difficult part is sculpting the rider to actualy look like he is riding the horse. How many mounted figures just look like they barely sitting square on the horse?~Gary

Great job, Alex! (y)

A remark though. You have sculpted a cinch (belly strap) implying that there's a saddle under the leopard(?) skin. If that's the case, then the rider as you've positioned him, is sitting BEHIND the saddle and not on it. A small detail but it can make or break a mounted figure.

Otherwise, (y) (y)

Gary, that´s the reason I didnt finished for years,
This is one of kind model, and I modeled the legs directly on to horse... and then modeled the skin, and easyer to make the movement horse/figure. And other models are more difficult to do that for the adjust of the parts.

Alex

Hello Quang, you rigth my friend, the position of the rider is too bak, I saw this but...to late.
About the saddle, could be the skin the only? and the cinch for some mantle or something??

Hello Guy, thanks for your lines friend.

Alex.
