Main reference image was this:

it is Varazdin hussar from 18 century, but I also wanted to "incorporate" the history of a "cravat" or "tie" into it :)

Here is the current uniform of the "Varazdin husar" historical unit, but it is heavily stylized:

So, mainly I used the first image and few other illustrations like this one of "Karlovac hussars":

To my knowledge, there is unfortunately no preserved uniform from that period :(

I was struggling with the shape of the "čako" - which is our native name for that cap - and decided to go with the "standard" one, and found many references including illustrations of "Karlovac hussar" that had this "flat" one.
But You are right, on that first ilustration it looks so good, and might look more interesting together with slightly longer fur chunks :) Will try that version, thanks !

militia "süveg" is around 38-40 cm tall alone. It was the common size for horsemens cap 300 years long - and it was inside the covering. Only the hajdu and the borderers/ grenzers/granicari had the csákó size your varazdiner have on. It looks now like prussian one. Ours had the same dimenzions like the magdenburger or hannoverian if you looking after german shemes.

+1 for grasshopper
the mente should drop more

If the distance between tip of the chin and bridge of the nose is 15cm, then my "čako" is a bit less then 30c, which means it should be longer - got it.
By "mente" You mean the cloth dropping from the cap ?

I think the beard must be removed. at the time I believe that nobody among the hussars of any country brought her

the scabbard sheath is not too squared?

I think this is a great looking bust, I am no being an expert and cannot sculpt but if I was to change anything it would be to close his mouth a little and put the teeth together....

I agree, closed mouth with teeth showing would make him more aggressive, probably even much better looking.
But I chose open mouth by purpose, You have to imagine that he is swearing as only "Cravat" can ... and You can't swear when mouth is closed :)

hi! The mente is the name of the jacket coat on his shoulder. Its maybe should be a bit bigger size too. It was used to cover the hand with the lead/reins against cuts, but it was a cold/wet weather coat as well.

By the hungarian and crobotian grenzers it was common to use blacked sheepskin as trimmings and cover on the csákó, - i think the varazdiner csákó had to be the same style. Russo hussars and serbian pandours did the same too, but with fox and boar fur by the nco's cap. The picture you posted as your main reference image is very good. A worn and long time used covered csákó should look like that.

The hairs and all the locks defended the neck from cuts. To do so, the locks had to be enough long to lead down the blades a bit. They never chalked or washed that locks!

Who swear by the riding and hitting around with sabers, bite its tongue and smash his teeths together xD
Well actually they did bite hard on a piece of leather belt or on they csákos chinstrap! Hungarians, prussians, english, russians, even the spanish did the same. Maybe varazdiners not always, but..
