Well, nice work Brian, I like it as it is, but why did you bother posting this one if you intend to do it again?
Once I'd photographed it I thought it was a bit too much like my usual tones .I've get a bit bored with the same as usual.I really would like to experiment more the older I get

I'm going to be adding stains of oils to his face and i'm changing his hair colour and see how that goes.

Thanks for your kind comments Alexandros,coming from a painter of your high calibre i take what you say as a great compliment.
Ive started to slowly do more work on the Blacksmith's head such as changing his hair colour and using stains of oils to add more life to his face.I've also attached the head to the body which gives me more of a perspective of the whole bust.

Starting adding stains of oil on the face and reworking the hair and beard which you'll notice is still wet.

I still much prefer the smithy's face in the flesh but unfortunately I'm still crap at photography as the picture doesn't really give you a true likeness but at least you can get a rough idea.
