Book of Waterloo

Is this a second Waterloo book by Cornwell?
I have one of his also titled "Waterloo Companion"... an overview of the campaign and the three battles with a lot of references from contemporary diaries. Not sure exactly when it was published but it's definitely not 2015.
I like his writing style... I've read all of his series... and enjoyed this one as well. It's not a history text book and is actually a pleasant read.

This one being refered to is new to me, but I like Bernie as an author.

I think that is the Mark Adkin book from 2001 unless Cornwell's book is published under a different name in North America (nearly typed US then sorry Col). Bernie writes a pretty good narrative account but for narrative history Barbero's "The Battle" is my favourite.

Waterloo Companion is Mark Adkin's book I think Colin. I missed Huw's note when I posted.

Thanks for the tip about 7 Men. It is still available on Amazon albeit but used copies are much much cheaper than new copies.

The Duellists is by Joseph Conrad and is a short story. I got mine in a anthology of his short stories but have only read the duellists as I'm a cultural heathen!!!!

For my money the best novels based on the napoleonic period are the Jack Aubrey series by Patrick O'Brien - however these are all based on the Navy. They're fantastic despite me never wanting to model a ship - ever.

The duellists can be downloaded as a pdf online as it's quite short. I assume it's out of copyright now and not illegal to read that way.

It wasn't 'Game of Thrones' thickness I admit, but it was
a novel of a couple of hundred pages I'm sure.

Another great book I read before I was 18 was
Tramp in armour.
A novel concerning the exploits of a Matilda tank and it's crew trying to rejoin the BEF outside Dunkirk in 1940.
I remember it as an exciting read.
