Hi Everyone

Pleasure to confirm that we will be running Bugle Call this year on the same weekend in November as usual , details ase below on flyer

One change we have decided in fairness to the traders to have no undertable selling , however clubs have the option to purchase a table to sell which will be positioned next to their display

PF will have a table so its a open offer to all members to bring display pieces along

Cheers Kev, In the diary.

Not sure I like the ban on selling privately, buying a table defeats the object and I suspect no one will go to that expense. I bought some nice OOP stuff last time but I still bought from the traders. That said it's not my show.

See you there.

Hi Bill

It's not a ban selling clubs have the option to purchase a table to sell on which a couple have done already, as far as I know we are the first show to do it or at least try it out , we all I am sure have our views on this .....including me

Thinking ref the last show I dint see lots under table stuff anyway

Do bring along figures to put on the PF display tables ...the more the merrier

I think this is a good move . If traders go to the expense hiring tables or rooms plus the expense of traveling , in some cases long distant why should they face competition from someone who has paid nothing towards the show .just because they are a member of a club . I remember one show in Weston where a reviewer of plastic kits was selling loads of at half price . As the kits were un touched and still in the plastic bags I wonder how he actually reviewed .
Maybe another option would be to have a table where people could bring kits to sell and a percentage taken would go to the show funds .

PS ...Great Catering as well as me !

Kev,
Do you have a list of traders for this show? There is nothing on the website.

Will it be the same format as BC 2019?

Only problem is the you then have to organise it, split the commission etc and have someone stand there all day to man it. We tried this some years back at Bath when we had a membership of 20. We simply couldn't do this with a membership of 4 active members. Its not like people are short of places to dispose of kits with Ebay, Gumtree, this forum and others like it.

21 years in the making….and now it’s gone!
A warning to everyone attending and exhibiting at model shows.
Bugle Call 2021 was an enjoyable and successful show but ended on a rather sour note. Jim Dew and I had figures stolen from our stand. Jim lost a figure that he made of the late Peter Sturgeon in No1 Dress as part of our tribute display. I lost my 54mm mounted Samurai, converted from the Andrea foot figure. Yes the one that I wrote the article about and took 21 years to complete. Both these figures had a lot of emotional value, never mind the hours put into their creation, so Jim and I are pretty gutted. Jim also had a figure stolen from our stand at the recent BMSS Nats/Interbranch in Reading.
It would appear we have a thief in our midst, who is targeting displays at shows. We only have about 4/5 active members, who were all involved in various aspects of running the show and competitions, so there were times when the stand was unattended. This is just a warning to everyone who exhibits at model shows, not to leave your stand unattended and to pay particular attention to anyone hovering about that you do not know.
I am not going to let this thief win. I am going to make another one, better this time. Don’t think I have 21 years left though, so better get a move on this time!
Pictures of the stolen items are shown below and I would appreciate you getting in touch if you see these items for sale or on display, although I don’t hold out much hope for recovery. Jims mounted figure that was taken at the Nats/Interbranch was similar to that below, but was a trumpeter on a white horse.
Kind regards, Bob Orr,
