Most impressive piece. The standard is excellent. What blues did you use on the standard? My bust has just arrived so I plan to use you photos as a guide.

Hi and thanks for looking and your comments......for the blues I undercoated with acrylic light blue.....and then mixed up an oil mix of blue black and permanent blue.....thinned a little before over painting the acrylic.......after about 15 minutes I removed the the paint with a clean dry brush.
Leaving the ridges lighter than the folds in the flag...again after a drying period I mixed white into the basic mix and dotted this over the ridges.....blend as you progress...
Since posting the pic of the flag I have revisited the highlights with more of the same and blend.....until it pleases your eye....good look and enjoy
