In 2 weeks time, I shall FINALLY be able to again attend the show that got me started on figures 13 years ago. Back then, I hadn't the faintest idea who Shep Paine and Bill Horan were, and had not understood the significance of meeting brilliant artist like Emmanuel Valerio. While my ability hasn't grown much, I glad to say my passion has not waned, largely due to wonderful sites like PF and the generosity of its members.

I'm just wondering who on PF here will be at the Chicago show and would anyone like to suggest a way of identifying PF members? I will be at the show alone and would love to finally meet some of you.

BTW, I'll be that Asian guy walking around aimlessly and will likely have only a figure or 2 on display.

Cheers

Basil, I'd like to try and make it, if there is a chance I might but very slim.

I will look and see if I can dig up the planetFigure Name Badge Generator ;)

Hi Basil,

I will be going to Chicago... I will try to look for you !

I think you will find a lot of friendly people there and you will enjoy the show.
I have only been in the hobby 5 yrs.. and I have made so many friends.

BTW... I will be the Japanese girl walking around the show.

See you in a couple weeks.

Hi Basil. I'll be there. There aren't that many chicks, but I'll be the one with Wendy on the nametag and wandering around looking tired from trying to finish everything. :)

Hi Basil, Dee, and Wendy,

I'll be there with the Texas Contingent. Singapore and Atlanta are two of my favorite places in the world. I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi all,

I look forward to meeting all of you at the show. Especially the ladies in our midst....in all my years I haven't had the benefit of meeting any who are really interested in the hobby...and that includes my better half!

Gordy - thanks for pulling out the name thingy.

Cheers

I'm not sure if I just got the greatest kitchen pass in history or if the wife is just booting me out so she can have her table back (and a quiet weekend) but, I am going for the first time.

I am really hoping to finally meet a some of the PF'rs that I've learned so much from over the last couple of years!!

Hi. Digressing to after the show (Sunday), are there recommendations for anything interesting places to check out on the outskirts of Chicago (without having to enter the city)?

~ Basil

Basil:If you want to stay out of the city, you should at least try to see Cantigny Park. There is a great museum dedicated to the 1st Infantry Division (the Big Red One). I don't think it too far away from the hotel.

Paul

Anders, that Museum is miles away from Schaumburg ,it may be better to get the Metra at Schaumburg station ( 1hr approx) and get a cab from Union Street Station.

Museum is well worth the visit !

I am unable to be at the show this year which is a real shame as I live 10mins by car from the Marriott Hotel :( ,......as I`m visiting my Family in London England and a few pubs :)

I went last year and had a great time and have made some great friends from the show

I hope you all enjoy yourselfs

Anders,
Thanks for the offer. Does sound good and I guess we can speak about it at the show.

Paul - thanks for the suggestion. I checked it out and it seems interesting and would certainly be an option for one of my days there.

Andy - thanks for the suggestion. Sorry you can't make it.

Cheers
Basil
