What about a bust of Général Bigeard with beret of course and wearing the full version of all his medals/decorations? I hope to see this one day before my eyesight fails to paint them!

Perhaps this one :

I try to convince some sculptors, maybe someday?
But I think we off topic, even if they are French soldiers !!!!!(n);)

ZC,

What are you doing to me ...stars and a neck award and medals as well , is that a camo uniform ...love it!!

On the Dupin neck award is it the eagle or the face my friend ?

Off to start the award..happy days

Nap

Dupin pose for photos, medals were well arranged by the photographer.
Normally with this version of the Legion of Honor is seems you the head of Napoleon who is visibe.
The exact term if you do this research is:
"Legion d'Honneur Second Empire, bijou de Commandeur"
Here is that of a contemporary of Dupin, Admiral Louis Edouard Bouet-Willaumez, large cross-Version.

For more details of the center of the coin, a photo of the obverse and reverse of the Knight's Cross, second Empire

Obverse: The effigy of Napoleon with: "NAPOLEON, EMPEROR OF FRENCH".
On the reverse: The eagle replaces the flags (July-monarchy King Louis-Philippe 1830-1848) surrounded by the motto: "HONOR AND HOMELAND" on a blue enamel background.
Nap, be careful sculpting the head of Napoleon on the Medal !!!!:censored::dead::wacky:;)

Sorry, gentlemen, late reply:), and couldn't expand in first post - night shifts and all that...

The hat has been explained, thank you, Akaryu - indeed, sombrero should sit a bit more forward, but like I say its just a position adjustment. Hopefully you will get a new one soon,

Trefoil piping ( or whatever it is called ) - the cords are supposed to go over each other and form a cross grid. I enclose an officer's sleeve which may not be as complex but utilizes same principle. I am not sure what happened with the cast- but there are plenty of broken lines and rogue threads. Understandably, the pattern is extremely complex and getting it over folds is a nightmare, Moz did a good job there.

I thought if you are committed to reworking the small detail, Nap, you may wish to set this right. Again, fairly easy, just needs more putty and cutting/ trimming.

Kevin, so you ground off the medals and re-did them o_O?

Well hell, I'm impressed :wideyed:!!

On another note, if someone comes up with a bust of Bigeard wearing that medal covered combat jacket, I'll buy it in a New York minute :)!
