The Marseille figure appears to be the Finemolds figure that goes with the guy painting the kills marks on the rudder of his 109, but that set was in 1/32. If its larger than 1/32, I recall that Legends did a 1/12 Marseille figure in that pose. The head on the right is one of the Finemolds 1/12th scale Super Deformed figures, and appears to be the German MG-34 gunner. They are on E-bay frequently.

Defo copies

Seriously;
The german is meant to be Hans Joachim Marseille whom I think Coree productions did it but was discontinued eons ago. The figure is brilliant for trying out leather and is a great cast figure. Shame they ruined his grin and put a Supperman chin on him instead of his more pointed one.

Hans Joachim Marseille, a young German fighter pilot, was the most amazing, unique, and lethal ace of World War 2. A non-conformist and brilliant innovator, he developed his own personal training program and combat tactics, and achieved amazing results, including 17 victories in one day, and an average lethality ratio of just 15 gun rounds per victory. Marseille was described by Adolf Galland, the most senior German ace, with these words : "He was the unrivaled virtuoso among the fighter pilots of World War 2. His achievements were previously considered impossible."

Right now I know who did them I'll carry on painting them, yes the caricature one is an MG34 gunner.
Cheers,
Carl.

carl, any way to tone down the shadows in the teeth? Makes him look a little weird, but maybe that was the point. The leather looks really good BTW.

Agreed old friend this was a very nice casting of Marseille, a pity such kits are euither out of commission or the companies manufacturing them are out of business, although I don't believe Legends is actually out of the circuit.:cool:

I have this figure and the teeth are enormous. They look like a caricature. It isn't 120mm so it would be difficult to find a replacement head. Come to think of it I don't know what scale it actually is. You any idea Carl?

Carl,

I asbolutely adore the first one, and wonder where I can get one.

Regarding the second one, this kit can come as a plastic, resin or vinyl kit. If it is a plastic kit you are painting, FineMolds issued it. If it is a Vinyl one, what you have is a hgih quality recast from South Korea. If it is a resin one, then to the best of my knowledge, a Chinese dealer on Ebay is passing it and other deformed WW2 Germans around (chances are it is a recast).

I have in my possession both a FineMolds plastic kit and a Vinyl recast kit from this deformed series and they are both well cast.

FineMolds have decided to reissue this deformed line (again in plastic) and I have seen an example of the re-issue last November. I am sure you will love the whole line!

Carl, excellent work on the leather jacket, shame about the joker face, that's not a critique on your painting but about the sculpting.:) and great work so far on the head of the MG-34 gunner. (y)

Cheers Ken

Carl, excellent painting and both great fun figures, although to me it looks like it calls for a Tank wedgie in the background .;):D only kidding.

Cheers Ken
