I've been having a go at a small 75mm (actually 54mm) as he's only a boy, and must admit to struggling a bit.I've a bit more to do with him and the groundwork, but nearly finished.

Brian, I've thought about buying this figure several times. You done a really credible paint job on this figure. It's quite a departure from a bust size figure.
My first love was 54mm's, many moons ago, and this was a massive shock to the system after painting all these busts, but I'm going to paint another 54mm figure soon as I'm a bit busted out at the moment.Need a wee change for a while.

Love this piece! It will be on my workbench pretty soon. I already saved your photo as a reference. Outstanding work Brian!
A true inspiration!
Cheers,

Lovely piece of work Brian,I love the muted colours,I think you have captured his mood in your painting,a very sad drummer boy, great addition to use the leaves, they really give the scene a nice look, great work mate
I've always used an Aculite and wore optivisors, but recently I've had a problem getting the contrast right, especially as an oil painter,as the sheen is distracting me when I'm painting ,more so than it used to.I usually have to, more or less, paint some parts more than once i.e. faces ,by applying layers.I'm probably painting like an acrylic painter, with the wet on dry technique I use, just a lot slower, which is a bit frustrating, which leads to boredom.Might be an age thing,as the more figures I paint,my attention span is decreasing,so I start another figure.
When I look at the 54mm's, I've painted in the past, they look so much better!!
I need more patience I reckon. Thanks for asking Mike,i might need a bit of therapy
