Hi everyone, I know I haven't posted anything new for a while. But this is my latest work that I have been painting - Gaius Julius Caesar 1/10 bust from NutsPlanet. I haven't had much time in my spare time painting miniatures recently so just had chance to get started on the armor part after 95% finishing painting the head a few weeks ago.

The armor is painted with acrylics metallic paint plus wash and inks. The head is not glued to the torso and just attached to it for taking pictures.

Below are some pictures of my painting of the head so far. It is 95% done but I will certainly tweak it a bit in the final step after finishing painting all other parts of the bust.

Hope you like the progress so far. Any comments or feedback are truly welcome. Thanks.

What a stunning paint job on his face Jason.I like your blue tones that you've done. The texturing effect you've done is really well done.I might just have to buy this fella.

Nothing to critique here. I was going to playfully accuse you of photoshopping the box art but I can't because yours is better!

Most excellent indeed. And nice overall tone as well. I mean I'd assume all this campaigning would give the guy quite a tan. You've captured that perfectly.

Cheers,
Adrian

Jason, this is what I call realistic painting. Very well handled, beautiful details overall, the face is truly breathtaking. Metals are spot on too and the blue tunica is also very good idea. All figure looks 10* out of 10!

Well, it doesn't get any better than that!

Probably the best painting of a face on a figure I have ever seen Jason, and the rest is stunning as well.

Absolutetly unbelievable work!

Cheer's,
Jeff.

Thank you very much to all of you for your kind words and encouragement. Really appreciate that. So far, this bust is about 50% done and there is still a lot work to do. When having time, I will continue to paint the cloak (red fabrics), shoulder stripes (dark brown leather and golden brown tassels underneath) and stripe on the waist (white fabrics), which is pretty much the same color palette as the box art that I am fond of, and then try to update more painting progress here on the PlanetFigure forum. Thanks a lot to all of you, my friends :)
