Am WiP with a WW1 figure, 90mm scale, wearing a gas mask (the figure, not me). Have painted the eyes and face behind the lenses and am looking for some tips on how to fashion the lenses. There seem to be 2 obvious options: either cut some clear plastic to shape and glue in, or use a clear resin poured into the voids and allowed to set.

Any ideas, recommendations or similar experiences welcomed.

I would go with the clear plastic myself somebody (Dan Morton I believe but could be wrong) said to use a leather punch to make accurate circles easily with clear plastic sheet

You can also use any of the punch and die sets to punch the lenses.

I second John. For any kind of clear lenses, I used a punch and die set, and clear plastic stock salvaged from the packaging of my good shirts. They come with a strip of clear plastic, about 2" wide, coiled inside the neck to keep it shaped till you open the package. There is also a piece curved in cross-section and shaped like a pair of wings, tucked under the front of the collar. Those go right into my scratchbuilding storage every Christmas.

You can also get clear notebook covers from office supply stores, that works very well, as well as saving the clear plastic containers used to package food in many groceries. There are usually two nice big flat sections you can get, even if you have to cut away the sides of the containers.

Prost!
