Look forward to seeing both Phil

Painted 3 awards on the left side of Rolett ...he's coming together nicely ...out of interest what's your mix likely to be on his uniform colour ?

Happy benchtime

Hi Kev

Just been doing a bit of mixing. I reckon I would be happy with Vallejo Off White with Vallejo Green Ochre, and a dash of Vallejo Amaranth Red. This gives a faintly pinkish pale khaki. Check it out, it looks pretty close when painted onto a matt white base.

Hi everyone

It seems I have flipped ...kept looking at the sculpted medals in particular these 3
image.png

Looking at the main picture you can see things are missing

image.jpeg image.jpeg

#1 No ribbon......I HAVE ADDED A RIBBON

#2 Croix de Guerre TOE without medal .....I HAVE ADDED THE MEDAL OVER THE ROSETTE

#3 Ribbon with rosette and a Croix de Guerre-style medal?.............I HAVE ADDED A PART RIBBON IN THE GAP TO THE RIGHT OF TOE

Lots of muttering and holding my breath the details are now there .....painting will hopefully bring these out

Still unsure what #2 is meant to represent with the rosette ?

Happy days

Hi folks

Well this is a challenging piece to say the least ! .....

Completed and painted the TOE ( 2 palms ) ...

Kept looking at the main reference here
image.jpeg

Close up which shows the War Cross with 7 palms with actual medal showing ...on the sculpt it isn't .......it is now ...sculpted the whole ribbon and medal..and palms plus star which shows on the picture here
image.jpeg

Wasn't 100% sure which one the sculpter meant to represent with the star next to aguilette ...so wanting to keep closer to the picture ...I replaced it with what will be the medal for Verdun

I also added a bit more to the medal peeking out from under the aguilette

image.jpeg - Verdun medal

Reckon this will be the most complicated rework I have done !....so far !

iffyvision pic...believe me all the details there in putty !

You really have been bitten by the medal painting bug Kevin.
Very nice work, by the way.
It certainly adds some colour to potentially drab uniforms.

Cheers,
Andrew

Fantastic work on all those awards, Kev. I think this could be the most ambitious piece of medal painting you've ever done.

Thanks Chris ..it's certainly got a lot !!! , as I said here there's a bit if a jumble on the medals with the sculptor going for a overall effect IMO ...that's why I did the rework on it ....it would have just bugged me if I hadn't !!!!

I look forwzrd to Phils version ...no pressure mate !!!
