Hello All,
Some of the details are now being added, such as chinstrap for the helmet,a pair of binoculars. Some finer folds were added to the upper part of the trousers, which meant a light layer of putty and a smaller rolling action with the modelling tool.
Comments welcome.
Andy

Hi Adrian and Gells,
Thanks for the comments.Posing a figure takes a bit of time to get right, the slightest move of a wire armature can change the whole pose, sometimes for the better.
Trying to give that lived in look of a figure can be challenging but fun(pushing those boundries a little further each time).
Cheers
Andy

Hi Richie,
Between you me and the fence post, the diamond pattern was made by two modelling blades glued together with a 2.5mm spacer in between, which meant the pattern could line up alot easier than just one blade.
hth.
Andy

Clever tip mate! Bet you were stoked to get those photos of the quilted jacket from Sturm - hard to beat this sort of reference eh!

On the figure really like the crumpled top of the trousers, nice touch Andy & good attention to detail.

Good to see you all back in action after the move too.

Stay safe
Mike

Why is this man Gells so nasty and aggressive? He threatens another nice member with violence for simply posting an opinion. I am disgusted, this is modelling after all. What can be so wrong with this poor mans psyche that he feels the need for violence? I see he is from Scotland but surely all scotchmen aren't sexually repressed violent alcoholics? Is it the fumes from the glue he uses that send him crazy as a rabid bat? Is it cold weather and wearing kilt dress that has frostbitten his bits?

Zodiac we don't all run around in kilts and eat Porridge Oats washed down with gallons of whisky and am sure we get as much nookie as everyone else:D

Hi Andy,
the pose is convincing and I bet that you did some background checks about his equipment.
As far as I know specialized paratroop-equipment like helmet, jumpboots etc. were treasured and worn with pride among the airborne units but supplies were sometimes a problem - especially for the battleworn paras at the eastern front.

I owned one of these suits till late last year it had differnt buttons to the jacket shown in the above photos it was an exact match to the jacket in german soldiers of ww2 paratrooper ukraine with larger squares and the pants were the same t was really stiff and heavy much heavier than later reversables in a cotton rayon altough they did come in 100% rayon with smaller squres and standard buttons or toggles its a mine field with german uniform as there are many variables and it was a pig to sell as not many collectors are familiar with them enough to put there hand in their pockets

We are ruining this thread Ron, do I see a cross between Marcello Mastroianni and John Laurie here? She'll be chuffed..aye!
