The metal plate already look awesome.
A killer combimation i have used in the past is the Vallejo Brass, once it is dry then i apply Vallejo Sepua wash and then i go over the most prominet areas with a mix of brass and gold.
But man, you have a winner there.

Thank you .....the piece is coming along nicely now ......shirt collar all dry so will start that once the hair is complete .....in between Mrs Nap dragging me out shopping !

Thanks for your info , no metallics on this but I do use a Citadel Contrast Snakebite leather ...in various strength washes

The plate is actually darker in reality .....pics have lightened it a bit more !

Ohh i know that , wives have a way of taking us out of our workbenches at odd times, mine never fail to ask me to go do stuff just when i mixed fresh paint for a palette .
Great looking figure, carry on!
 
Verbal update

Wig reworked and all completed now , facial hair , then begin the waistcoat using Scalecolour Acrylics

Happy with the way it's going ...need to finish for Yeovil show on 23rd

Hi folks

Facings all finished, and epaulette , waistcoat 90% , main crossbelt about the same , others still to do ( going for all whitie...ish but might change the smaller one , then the blue , bow/ pigtail , moustache etc , buttons , final details and he will be complete

Update

All belts finished on this Hessian from TFB Miniatures , just buttons , collar , blue uniform , bow etc and last but not least his moustache and eyebrows

Looking at prepping the RWF bust as well soon alongside a WW1 subject
