Following on from the opening post regarding this project,i did mention that I was in the process of constructing a back drop,( I cant leave anything on its own o_O:confused: ).
I have now completed the backdrop,i wanted to portray him in a similar setting to my Coldstream Guard at Hougomount, although with this one I wanted to add just a little bit more to it,with the addition of a small section of damaged roof and a window shutter, with these little extras I don't think it takes anything away from the piece and it dosent over power it either.
For the stonework at La Haye Sante I used embossed plastic brick sheet, these seem to fit the scale very well,i used different balsa sections to create the shutter, window frame and window ledge.
I've used wood filler to smooth and fill any small gaps,0.30 thou black plastic card was cut and shaped to cover the back and side roof areas.
The actual base itself I constructed out of block balsa and finished it with some profile strips which were cut in my mitre box.
I've deliberately added a smaller side window, the reason for this is to give a view of the left rear side of the bust, some people don't like backdrops because they cant see all the completed figure, with this small addition I hope to remedy that.
The roof tiles were cut from 0.30 white plastic card and the damaged was created using my pyrograve.
I still might add another base level to give it abit more better appearance.
Details of the stormtrooper bust you can find in my last post or on the stormtrooper website.
