Very nice Andrew! Challenging I'm sure. I painted this kit back in the 70's and used the couch and lady in a couple of different scenarios. I really love seeing the old Phoenix kits.

With the blue striping reasonably dry, I made a start on the woodwork of the sofa.
First coat was Humbrol #110 (Natural Wood).
This was then overpainted with W&N Transparent Brown Oxide (oil), followed by a bit of swirling with an old dry brush over the larger surfaces to give some appearance of grain.

Once dry, the next step will be shadow washes, some highlighting, varnishing, followed by some ‘bling’ (not too much though).

Madam’s dress, as shown in my photo of the two figures is Humbrol Light Grey (#147, I think) with a Panes Grey wash.
I’m basically heading for a white dress, with some trimmings.

I've been tinkering with the two figures, alternating with other items I'm working on.
The sofa has just had its varnish coat to the woodwork.
Just the 'bling' to go; plus some remedial painting which the photos have thrown up.
Napoleon is close to being finished, while the lady still has a little way to go.
