Thanks for that, I'm going to do some reworking on the figure though as I'm not entirely happy with him, how drastic I don't know yet.

Belgium was nice but damn cold, the beer is always good though.

Simon
Maybe his arms could adopt a little more swing, to represent marching/walking?

Right I'll get straight into it, I wasn't happy with the pose of this fella. He was too tall, he looked wooden and just simply uninspiring. Therefore;

A bit drastic may be but it had to be done, the worst bit was snapping the peak of the kepi as it took about 3 or 4 sessions to get right. Superglue to the rescue so that turned out well enough.

He now has his head tipped back a bit making the fact he is singing a bit more obvious. His left arm is a little more relaxed and his right arm is more animated. The legs are repinned and with a more relaxed stance. Lots of work to do to make good the changes but he looks better, well I think so at any rate.

Hope you all like it cos I'm not changing it again!

Simon

You have certainly succeeded in making him more animated, like you I am rarely satisfied with the finished figure. I don't consider myself anything of a perfectionist just someone who would like to get it right.

Malkie

Malc and Malkie, many thanks gents I feel happier with him now, still got a fair bit of patching up to do but it's better than not enjoying it.

Simon

I prefer this last version, well done simon. You see, I put a crying smiley for fun when you mentioned that France lost....
Thank you Bran. Yes I saw your emoji, it was a good game and both teams deserved the victory, when a game comes down to one point you know you have been entertained. Mind you with Ntamack and Dupont you are a hard team to beat. So until next time!

Simon

Rather like the six million dollar man I have rebuilt the dismembered Legionnaire. Also given him a prop that I'm sure he'll appreciate.

Let the putty dry and I can start to paint, but not this week as it's half term and I'm gonna get Granddaughtered tomorrow. Some silly fool, her mother, introduced her to having her nails painted so it could be a colourful day, for me!!

Simon

Very nice this legionnaire Simon. Take good care of your granddaughter, between grandfathers who look after their grandchildren, we understand each other perfectly....

Malkie, Neil, Bran, Malc and Przebor, thank you gentlemen I am pleased you all like him. I really wasn't happy with him but I'm quite happy now, especially with the beer, I have more in common with him!

It wasn't the easiest reconstruction but worth the effort.

As for my Granddaughter Bran, I love her to bits and would do anything for her, however I am always grateful when I hand her back to my daughter!!!

Simon

That's brave of you Simon (re-posing the figure I meant, not having your granddaughter....). It must have been quite a big decision but it's worth it and you managed to reassemble the bits pretty quickly. The new pose looks better IMO and I'm sure he will appreciate his addition! Looking forward to seeing some paint on this.....
