I would just like to say that I have no political affiliations with this man, or what he stood for. I just thought it was an interesting sculpt, and a challenge as basically all it is is the coat. Finished in Vallejo, the groundwork is extended with cat litter and wood scraps.

Makes no odds to me Carl, it's just a historical character made of metal/resin I know it's not a political statement. I am able to tell the difference. :D
You've done a really good job on the coat, the transitions between light & shade a very smooth.

Roger.

Nice painting Carl, what technique and colours have you used for the grey coat, the transitions between the highlights and darks look very good(y)

Cheers
Tommi

Thanks for the comments, adn being able to see though the man. Tommi, the coats field grey, highlighted with Iraqi sand applied with the airbrush from above. Then refined with a normal brush.
Thanks again,
Carl.

You pulled this of nicely mate and a figure is a figure no matter the history.

The coat as you said is the figure basically and you managed an excellent job with painting it.

Carl:
No worries...you've portrayed a historical figure without glorifying the monster. Great job particularly on the coat. One question....I thought you were an oil painter. When did i miss the fact you are on the dark side (acrylics):))

Nice work, outstanding job on the trench coat. I like the fact that he is standing in the rubble of his 1000year Reich. Nic ebit of ironey

Carl this is great. The coat looks so real.Do you use any kind of matt varnish, because i know that Vallejo colors tend to be a bit shinny and this lloks dead matt to me.

I use a little touch of Tamiya X21 flat base. Thanks for taking the time to look in.

Well done, Carl! I think you've captured the look of the man that we see in those last newsreels. Well done on the shading and highlighting!

Prost!
