After completing Scale Collectable bust of Napoleon / Joaquin Phoenix.
I wanted to add a complimentary nameplate, so I chose one of Name Its photo plates
using a photo from the film and mounted onto the base.

What you have to decide is whether the plate was mounted on a piece of wood shaped to fit the base
or Magic-Sculpt painted to match the wood. :sneaky:

Well Malc my indecision is a testament to either your woodworking or painting skills as I find it hard to establish a difference......forced into decision I would say wood...LOL

Hi Malc

That’s a good idea , I forgot Nameit can do that with pictures, looks good

Out of interest did you woodturn the base ?

Nap

I'm afraid I didn't make the base, I've bought it a few years back from a friend at FigureWorld.
You've not provided and answer is the mount wood or painted?????

Nice touch to complete the display.

Cheers Simon

Cheers Simon, what are your thoughts.... is the nameplate mount, wood or painted??????

Hi Malc

I reckon looking at the rounded base the plate was mounted on a cleverly worked magiscut and then painted to match .......

Very well done I hasten to add

Do I win a prize ?

Nap

I would say painted, simply because I know your painting skills but not your woodworking skills. either way it is well done.

Bill

Tough! But on balance I’m going with Magic Sculpt and painted.
Looks great either way!

Thanks for all the replies.
For those who thought it painted on Magic-Sculpt, you are all correct.

The basic detail was all done in acrylics and then given a wash in Burnt Umber oils.

Nap, the prize is a Bacon roll at the Surrey show. :D
If you can't make it, I'll eat it on your behalf.

Nice one Malc. You know I've never thought about this. First time I've seen it done.
Could definitely come in handy one day
Cheers!
