Hi Brian

Sorry mate I liked it but never posted , so here I am ...It is interesting to see how you have developed your very individual and effective style of painting ...

Do you always weather as you progress ? ...shako looking good mate , he really does look like he is wishing he was somewhere else !

Looking forward to seeing the colour come to life and how you deal with his jacket

Happy painting

I didn't realise that you weathered as you painted Brian. That's a very different technique to the way most modellers operate. Love the effects on the shako and looking forward to seeing the next steps.

Hi tony,i don't always weather as I paint,it just depends what particular thing it is i'm painting at the time

Hi kev
I've been asked many times about how I arrived at my painting style and the complete honest awnser is I don't know, the only thing I can remember many many years ago was the great works of bill horan,i used to read all his articles over and over and study the pictures,i wanted to create the same sort of weathering with oils as he gets with enamels,it was just a matter of experimenting on old pieces, back in the mid 80s I had a very good teacher when it came to painting Barry Reynolds who was a big name in the hobby back then with his historex conversions,he taught me how to paint in oils and I've never looked back ,and its been a journey of love ever since,i'm still learning about oils now.
