Thanks a lot for your great feedback! I'm glad that you like what I did so far.
pgarri27 - Sure! I used one single white palette. Base: Andrea White Paint Set #5+#6 (50/50); Deep Shadow: Scale75 Walnut which is basically a little bit darker burnt umber; Ultra highlights: ivory. Hope it helps.

That's extremely well painted : the green is particularly succesful. My only suggestion would be to drop the powdered hair , which would be pretty well unheard of in the field.
Thanks Tony! Much appreciated!
I just reviewed the figure this morning to establish how much weathering to add and looked again at the hair. Powdered hair doesn't make to much sense in the field, isn't it? Specially considering the tactical job that the rangers performed. I had a previous conversation with my good friend Colin S. (ChaosCossack) about this and he was suggesting the same thing. This is an easy fix and makes perfect sense.
This weekend I'll redo the hair and add the weathering and hope to paint the musket, sword and canteen.

one thing to consider in regards to the hair Zeno; it's probably a wig, and not actually hair at all. And he is an officer of His Majesty's services after all, so you could make a case for leaving it, even if he wouldn't have had time to properly powder the wig before the days combat. Just my two cents worth.
Thanks Glen! Much appreciated!
I looked closer to this hair issue and found a nice reference material. Please have a look: http://www.harryschenawolf.com/pigtails-queues-and-campaign-wigs-of-revolutionary-war-soldiers/
The British officers during the AWI used wigs. The common soldiers didn't. The officer wigs came in 3 colours: black, brown and grey. So, from this point of view, as it is, the figure is painted OK. However, I'm going to alter the existing colour to more worn warm beige-ish colour as part of the weathering.

I worked on the musket, canteen, sword and bayonet and attached them temporary.
It's ready to go on the base. I'll take them off because I'll "dance" a lot around the figure when I'm doing the groundwork and I don't want to brake anything.
Let me know your thoughts and your comments are more than appreciated!

I have painted the Iron Brigade figure and have the Colour Sgt 28th foot to do. The detail is very good and go together with very little clean up.
I like your style of painting, you make it look easy.
Best regards
Yes Bob! I agree. Wonderful figures. I worked the Iron Brigade as well. I worked also the Spanish Private and the Knight (Mike Blank sculpture). This one is the 4th figure from FeR Miniatures. I have almost all the line in my grey army except the busts and can't help my self buying the new releases. Absolutely wonderful products. Love them!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad that you like my painting! Trying to make justice to these beautiful figures!

Thanks Roger! Much appreciated!
I'm glad that you like them. It's more a hint of ribbed texture due to dirt and grime. I stopped in time with the weathering to retain the texture. This weathering is one of those things. It can go forever till you decide to stop.
