Re: Photos

It would be nice. Let me check with Gordy before saying anything :)

Hi guys!

I am stoked about the workshop!!!

I am also a photographer and would be willing to set up a spot to shoot our work. I would just need a table.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,

Bill

To All,
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself; I’m Jeff Evans a long time lurker who couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. I’m a “keep it between the lines” painter who understands the fundamentals if not so solid when it comes to their application. I’m really looking forward to this as an opportunity to learn from such an accomplished painter as Mr Ruiz as well as everyone else. I’m self-taught, which will be readily apparent. My sincerest thanks to Gordy Stronach for putting this together, Steve Scott for the bases and Charlie Pritchett for opening up his home (count me in) as well as everyone else who has donated their time and efforts to make this happen. I only hope I have something to offer in return.

See you all soon.

Cheers,

Jeff

A brief interruption in the introductions.
Here's a list of the things that the attendants have to bring:

-Some travel hairdryers. Not needed to bring one per person but, if there’s not too much trouble to bring yours, take it.
-The usual tool or sistem to hold small pieces for painting that you use. I use manual drills, In example.
-Any visor aid you use to paint (optivisors, special lenses, etc...).
-If you have acrylic paints, feel free to bring along a selection to help making things easier. We’ll have the ones sponsored but it is useful to have more than 1, 2 or 3 pots in some moments. Even if they aren’t vallejo’s.
-Some kind of notebook, in case you want to take notes.
- One fridge magnet from the place you come from. These are for my sister awesome collection of souvenir magnets from several parts of the world. If it displays the name of the city or town, the better...:lol::love:

See you soon, buddies!!!

Hello!
I'm am just now getting around to enjoying reading ALL of this thread.

We have quite a collection of Vallejo paints, but since we are flying to St. Louis we will need to limit the amount we can bring. I found the link to flesh paints in the 8/3/11 message. However, I'm looking for suggestions of colors to bring for the rest of the figure. Any help for that? Thanks. (P.S. I understand from previoius messages that it's OK to bring other brands of acrylic paints, too. I have some P3s.)

Thanks for the list of paints! Sounds like we're going to be doing some painting!

Looking forward to meeting everybody.

We may be leaving early to get there and I might not have access to a computer after we leave - has the informal get-together time and place on Thursday evening been decided or will that be posted at the hotel?

Can I get the name of the hobby shop nearby and directions from the hotel or an address?

Thanks in advance. Dave

Hi Dave,

We have an informal gathering at the Hotel Thursday evening in the restaurant/bar-area for folks to converge on :)

I'll send out tomorrow evening a final email for everyone with contact numbers etc.

The nearby hobby shop is Mark Twain Hobbies map here:

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, it's almost here!

Cheers,

That has my vote for quote of the year! :D (y)

Mine also...

Only a few days more, buddies!!!
Probably, I will be posting tomorrow a preview pic of my version of the violinist, also known as:
(drums)
"The Return of the Crimson King"
:eek::eek::eek:

Also, I'm devising a musical selection to be played at the seminar. I pretend to give some hint about how nice it is to inmerse yourself in the theme you are painting through all related media avalaible, music, books, movies, etc...;)

See you all soon!

Well, that's the whole list of colours I asked Vallejo to give. Those are intended to have options for diferent colour schemes and also to create a depot of sponsored materials in the States, so we don't have to ask for too many things more in a probable future seminar :whistle::whistle:
The figure is done in a 60% and I have only used 13 different pots so far :sneaky:

Fernando, I think several of us were going to try to bring a few bottles of Valejo with us to help out, I'm not interested in trying to bring that whole list but could you give us the thirteen that you have already used? If several of us had those thirteen or a number of them, that might help make paint distribution go better for you. Just a suggestion.
