Hi Gordon:

Thanks for chiming in on this thread. So you're aware of that old Mattel toy
too. And back in the 1960s and 70s I was an aircraft modeler; we all were
aware of this Mattel toy and why it was important to own one. And that was
my Christmas present to myself. The only downside to the machine is that
the platform for vacu-forming plastic is very small in dimensions. Less than
3 inches square.

Gordy, I hope you are planning on being at the IPMS/USA National Conv. in
Omaha, next August. As I would hope to get a chance to meet you in person;
same for Joe Hudson.

Thanks again,

Miami Jayhawk

I'd really dig that! And not that far of a drive ;)

Hi Rick,

Good to see you at it. Pretty tough work you're showing. I never really like to do the engineering part of the job, but a tight fitting and strong joint really helps in the final assembly I learned over the years. Your construction with the tube going from arm to arm is ingenious for such hollow figures.

Well enough rambling...following and looking forward to more.

Cheers,
Adrian

Yo Gordy. Does that mean you'll be in Omaha?????

So you said, Gordy. . . .that you "really dig that" . . . does that mean you'll
be coming to Omaha, and that we can meet and greet each other. . . Will
there be news at Eleven???? Inquiring minds want to know???

Well, all kidding aside, I hope we can meet up in Omaha. You realize that I
am an old man. . . .the point being, I don't have too many more IPMS/USA
National Convention trips in my . . . ah. . . . physical capabilties . . .
you understand, . . .. I will be 74 in Omaha??

Yo Adrian . . .

Not to dwell on the famous phrase from the film Rocky. . .

Adrian, it is always so nice to receive your comments about my rather
boring beginner type forum posts on PF. Your words are an inspiration to me
and I certainly understand your comments. The discipline to create the kind
of a model that will be acceptable to the judges is so so difficult. Thank you
so much for your kind word, my friend. I wish you and your family a
very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. . . what ever your preference is. . .

My best wishes to you and your family in this Holiday Season,

The Miami Jayhawk
